Our Story
Some of the best events we’ve ever been part of weren’t great because of the speakers, the lights, or the setup.
They were great because we knew the people in the room.
Blacktop Event Co. was built by Ben and Justine around a simple idea: the better we know the people we’re celebrating with, the better the experience becomes. After more than a decade of weddings, private events, clubs, and live event production, Ben learned that trust and familiarity can change the entire feel of a room.
That’s why Blacktop is built around relationships first. We want to know what makes you laugh, what songs mean something to your family, and what gets your friends onto the dance floor. Whether we’re celebrating your wedding, birthday, anniversary, or something completely different, our goal is simple:
When Blacktop shows up, we don’t want to feel like strangers.

"We had the best experience with Ben as our DJ for our wedding. He met with us beforehand, listened to the playlist we wanted, played every song we requested, and then mixed it up perfectly to keep the party going.
He brought lights for the dance floor and created such a fun, upbeat atmosphere. Everyone had a blast. He was engaging, professional, and exactly what you need for a wedding. He helped make every moment memorable and even joined in to get the party rolling with dancing and singing.
